To confess one truth—whether anyone believed it or not, and regardless of whether he was branded a liar—up until then, Gong Jio still didn’t see Cha Gyuhan as sexy. Meaning, he hadn’t thought of him in a sexual light. Cha Gyuhan was someone to leave standing under a streetlight and gaze at from afar; approaching and touching were things not included in the days Gong Jio counted.

The first reason was likely that Gong Jio simply had no interest in that sort of thing.

Gong Jio had learned about that world far too early, and had been exposed to it far too much, far too frequently, to the point where there wasn’t even room for curiosity. He had accidentally witnessed a scene once, and there were people who indiscreetly blabbered to him about their “user reviews” of Gong Seongju.

It was back when neither Gong Jio, nor those people, nor Gong Seongju realized that all of it could constitute violence and abuse.

Even so, it hadn’t made him averse to sex. That was thanks to the barrier he had erected early on—an indifference to others, and an irritation toward human presence where scent and hearing took precedence over touch. Still, since he had neither the time nor the desire to be curious, there was no way he’d be intrigued by childish dirty jokes or pornographic comic books swapped among the boys in class.

That barrier had reduced Cha Gyuhan to a presence left simply standing still, meant only to be looked at.

The second reason was perhaps Cha Gyuhan himself.

Driven by an excessively normal, fairy-tale-like purity that felt almost bizarre, Cha Gyuhan was fastidiously selective about the information he took in. For example, he would listen intently during health education class, but when vulgar jokes stemmed from it, he would stiffen, sternly warning people not to spout such garbage… He was thoroughly disgusted by the very concept of NTR, not to mention group sex… The NTR incident also served as a factor that kept Cha Gyuhan distant from such desires.

Gong Jio had watched Cha Gyuhan and kept him separate from the matters beyond the human presence he kept at a distance. Since Cha Gyuhan seemed to live in a PG-12 worldview, Jio decided he would match that level; he could easily do so, and thought it would probably be the easiest thing in the world for him.

That was true to some extent.

To some extent.

Meaning, right up until their high school entrance ceremony…
